Outcome

Presentation

Initially, I presented a UX design prototype at the midway checkpoint to discuss the direct, function of the website & next steps. Later, I presented Adam with a walk-through of the final product, connecting our project’s goals and how I addressed them. I listened to Adam’s questions and feedback which proved to be a great experience overall for both of us.

Impression

Adam expressed how he feels so impressed by the final product. It makes him like his content more because ā€˜the website showcases the videos so well.’ There was universal frustration with the limitations of using Squarespace. The mobile version of Squarespace websites has some issues with responsive scaling and Youtube embedding.

Next Phase

We discussed trying to improve the mobile scaling issues once Squarespace released an update where we can make the adjustments. Also, we discussed the potential redesign of his brand logo in the future, and more sections like places he’s traveled.

Message From The Client

ā€œThe first time I saw the final website I was blown away. The first page is just shocking - the motion of the paraglider in the background really captures your attention and sucks you in. The depth, details, and color scream ā€˜me’. While I appreciate the UX scaffolding, I love seeing how much of my personality is mixed into the writing and visuals. This turned out so well. What’s amazing is 72 hours ago this website didn’t exist.

Working with Sam is amazing. Our brains work very similarly so we found a common language. There is no way I could have created this on my own. During the entire process, I have a lot of feelings about how things look and Sam has no ego tied into their design which made the whole experience so much easier. I appreciate how comfortable I was made feel to ask questions and suggest ideas & improvements.

The only complaint isn’t one with Sam. It’s Squarespace’s limitations for website design. Sam ran into issues with Youtube’s embedding & thumbnails customizations as well as video speed & mobile view scaling but walked me through what was happening and how they intended to make the most of the situation to get what we wanted. It’s amazing that Sam is a designer and website builder. I lucked out.

I’m building up more content and want to add it to the website so we’re making a plan. Sam and I discussed working together to update my logo, too. We have ideas for new sections and I can’t wait to develop this project even further.ā€ - Adam
